Luca Maria Baldini (Ravenna, 1985) is a musician and sound designer based in Milan. His work explores the relationship between music, images, and bodies, moving freely across genres—from electronic music to post-rock and shoegaze, with influences from minimalism and neo-classical traditions.
In his creative process, sound emerges from images, only to take on a life of its own. His compositions often become soundtracks without films open spaces where each listener can project their own visual imaginary.
Baldini composes original soundtracks for films, installations, and performances, often creating site-specific works on commission. He has presented his work in national and international museums, galleries, and festivals, and has performed on Italian and European stages.
He has collaborated with artists and directors such as Emanuele Coccia, Andres Jaque, Yuri Ancarani, Stefania Rocca, Fabio Cherstich, and Cosimo Terlizzi, among others.
His work has been featured at the Biennale Architettura, Danish Film Institute, Teatro Franco Parenti Milano, Triennale Milano, Auditorium Parco della Musica Roma, ADFF New York, AAMOD Foundation Roma, Christie’s, Emporio Armani, Gufram, Memphis, MSGM, Jacob Cohen, Cineteca Bologna, Robot Festival, Little Islands Festival Greece, Nori Tanaka Fukuoka, Bamboozle Theater Leicester, International Academy of Natural Art Nederland, Trieste Science+Fiction Festival, Teatro Angelo Mai Roma, Le Cannibale, Video Sound Art Festival, 12-14 Gallery Wien, and more.
His artistic research focuses on melody, blending electronic music, analog instruments, and sound design into a distinctive sonic language.
